Ungerns svar på pågående arbetskraftsbrist: "Krympa offentlig sektor 20%"

The Hungarian government is planning to cut the number of workers employed in the public sector by 20%, which means 10,000-20,000 people could be losing their jobs in the sector, Cabinet Chief János Lázár told Hungarian news portal index.hu yesterday.

The minister said that Hungary is experiencing a labor shortage both inside and outside Budapest, making this a period appropriate for layoffs, the news portal reported.

Lázár has been appointed with the task of reducing bureaucracy in Hungary, as a result of which many jobs will reportedly be eliminated in public administration, along with certain institutions.
